Spectrum Cards are designed to help autistic girls explore who they are – their strengths, challenges, and sense of identity.
Created for clinicians, they provide a gentle and practical way to open conversations about autism, encourage self-awareness, and build confidence.
Ideal for both the diagnostic process and self-advocacy, Spectrum Cards help autistic individuals feel seen and understood, while offering families and educators valuable insight into their experiences. They can be used to guide therapeutic discussions, support diagnostic conversations, and highlight areas where additional support may be needed.
How Spectrum Cards help:
Build rapport with young people through a non-confrontational tool.
Provide a structured framework for open-ended conversations.
Allow the young person time to process information and respond in their own time.
Reduce memory and cognitive load by offering visual prompts.
Lower anxiety by removing pressure from verbal-only communication.
Open up conversations about identity, strengths, and support needs.
Promote self-understanding and emotional expression in young people.
Guide personalised interventions that go beyond surface-level behaviours.

Your imagination is the limit. These cards were designed with the diagnostic session in mind. For that moment when you are telling a child that they are autistic, and you want to communicate it in the most positive way because it’s a wonderful thing. However we have used them to facilitate conversations in sessions about autism, to help in the diagnostic process, to start the process of self-acceptance, to provide psychoeducation to families and to identify challenges a client may be facing. For tips and creative ideas for using the Cards, please follow Pocket Psych on instagram.

Of course! We designed these with girls in mind as we feel they are under catered too. But we have used them with a wide variety of clients. And we encourage you to do the same.
