Ways to use it

With the student

Sort the cards together into “yes”, “no” and “I don’t know” piles to see what feels hard, in the student’s own words.

In wellbeing meetings

Use the safety check, critical gaps and accommodation options to plan support before setting a return date.

Across the staff team

Share the teacher handouts so everyone works from the same understanding and responds consistently.

Who it’s for: teachers, school leaders, wellbeing staff and counsellors, and the psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers and allied health professionals who support school engagement.

Questions

How do I get it?

After you buy, you’ll get instant access to the digital download on the confirmation page and by email. The bundle includes two PDFs: the guide and the cards.

Can I print it?

Yes. The cards are set up one per A4 page, so you can print them full size or choose 4, 8 or 9 pages per sheet for smaller cards. The worksheets and plans in the guide are printable too.

Is it a diagnosis or assessment tool?

No. There are no scores or labels. The guide and cards help adults understand what’s happening from the student’s perspective, so support can be planned together.

Can I share it with colleagues?

Each purchase is for one person’s use, so please don’t share the electronic copy. If your school or service would like to use it more widely, or in a group program, email hello@pocketpsych.com.au to ask about licensing.

I’m a parent. Is this for me?

It’s written for school teams. For parents and carers, our interactive guide Setting the Compass is a better fit.
